Last night I walked into a cacophony of sound, energy, color, and youth. I attended a collegiate basketball game between the Cal Poly Mustangs and the UC San Diego Titans.

The intensity at which these young men throw themselves into their game takes your breath away. Aside from the athletic contest, the band, dance team and cheer corps present a well synchronized pageantry. Surrounding you on all sides are the fanatical fans yelling at the top of their lungs. It’s an all-consuming experience.

Sailboats lie peacefully at anchor in Morro Bay as the sun sets over the Morro Dunes.

A storm out in the Pacific Ocean sent huge waves onto the California Coast. Swells of 15 to 20 feet pounded the breakwater at Morro Bay.

You couldn’t hear anything over the thunder of the waves crashing in. The ground shakes with each impact. It really brings home the power of the ocean.
